National Congress on Science Education
I am writing from the Congress in Las Vegas, which has been a fascinating process. It's given me some great ideas to bring back for our Chapter. The theme this year has been creativity in science education, a topic near and dear to my heart. There has been some press recently about the fact that students in the U.S. Are increasingly falling behind in innovation and creativity. Check out the article in Newsweek this month. Employers are looking for graduates who can change the typical way of thinking. And yet, students are actually graduating with fewer of these skills. What are we doing to challenge our students to think outside the box, or even not recognize that there IS a box?
